The Musical Mitten
In the fall of 2021, I, along with fellow Olivet student Breanne Wilder, started a radio show that would eventually become a podcast called The Musical Mitten. The show focused on the different kinds of musical talent that has come from the state of Michigan. Throughout the show, we touched on the styles, artists, and songs that started there, and even talked to a few artists along the way.
Where We Started
The Radio Show
In the fall of 2021, Breanne and I bonded over a shared love of music. Out of these conversations, the Musical Mitten was born. Two hours a week on Monday evenings, we went live on air on WOCR 89.1 the One.

In that first season, we showcased 30+ artists, and even met the Verve Pipe in Ann Arbor before a show.
How We Became a Podcast
In the spring of 2022, due of some scheduling issues, we made the decision to make the Musical Mitten a podcast. This ended up being an unexpected asset to us as we were able to travel more and more, metting some incredible people along the way.

Over a year and a half later, both of the hosts of the Musical Mitten are on the cusp of graduation, but we're not ready to let go just yet. Instead, we've challenged ourselves to talk to as many musicians as possible because the finale of the show.
