M. Berner Bio
Hi there! Nice to meet you.
I'm originally from mid-Michigan, but I moved over to the west side of the state to attend college at what was then Olivet College, now the University of Olivet, where I graduated with my BA in Media Production and Communication in 2024. After graduation, I moved down to Metro Detroit to be closer to the state's entertainment scene that previously I'd only gotten to experience from a distance.
I grew up with an interest in music and the arts, and took to radio and podcasting like a duck to water when I was put in front of a microphone my first year of college. I worked with our student-run station throughout all four years of school, serving as a staff broadcaster, assistant station manager, and station manager in my senior year. I also served alongside the station as our program's equipment manager, where I organized the equipment rental process and inventoried equipment in order to provide students with the resources they needed.
I also developed a passion for writing, both fiction and non-fiction. My fiction writing ranged from the humorous to the macabre, and my journalistic pieces never shied away from difficult topics. More recently, I've been doing more editing than writing as I do contract work editing podcasts, but I love being on both sides of the equations.
If you have any questions about my work, or if you're interested in working together, please fill out the form below and I'll get in touch as soon as possible.
